Event Details

We are proud to announce that the New England Bike-Walk Summit will return to downtown Providence, RI, on Friday, October 7 for another full day of breakout sessions, field visits, trainings, and more!

Last year's event played to a standing-room-only crowd, so we have re-located the conference to the historic Providence Biltmore, walkable from Providence RR Station and Kennedy Plaza, for those arriving by rail or bus.

Nine sessions, dealing with design, planning, engineering, advocacy, education, and funding, will be offered.  A poster session will be added this year as well.

Registration is still only $40.  Members of the East Coast Greenway Alliance may register at the discounted rate of $20 (to determine your membership status first: info@greenway.org or 919-797-0619); here is a link to the ECGA membership page.  We have a scholarship fund allowing a limited number of free registrations; use the "contact the host" link at right to request information on this option.

Please download the call for presentations here.

Companies, agencies and organizations curious about sponsoring the event may want to see the
sponsor benefits sheet. A larger exhibit area will be provided this year, and more benefits for nonprofit sponsors, including a free booth at the Providence Cyclocross Festival and reduced fee for a booth at the first-ever east coast Veloswap, all that same weekend in Providence!  All sponsors get comped registrations to the Summit.

And finally: the best way to stay apprised of Summit developments is the
Facebook page.  If you "like" the page, you'll get updates periodically on things like guest speakers, field visits, etc etc.

See you in October!

The East Coast Greenway Alliance (ECGA) is the non-profit organization spearheading the development of the East Coast Greenway, a 2900-mile trail connecting cities from Maine to Florida for hikers, bicyclists, and other non-motorized users. Based in Durham, NC, the ECGA also employs regional field staff. The Alliance promotes the vision for connecting local trails into a continuous route, provides strategic assistance for states, counties, and municipalities that build local trail sections, officially designates trails as part of the ECG trail system, posts signage, and makes maps and guides to facilitate use of the Greenway.
